PLANT CHARACTERISTICS:
It is a perennial, hardy grass, growing to 1 m tall, its leaves which are clustered near the base, are linear, of approximately 1 m long, having sharp edges and a lemony aroma.
Culinary uses:
Perfect for garnishing soups, stews, salads, sauces and marinades, it is also common to see it used with ginger, garlic, cilantro (coriander) and added to fish and seafood, and is widely used in Thai and Vietnamese cuisine, and increasingly being used to aromatise cocktails such as Gin Tonic.
